Lahore High Court has issued a notice to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and Ministry of Religious Affairs to submit their viewpoint over the control of circulation of explicit content on the internet.

Recently a petition was filed in the court to take necessary measures for the rapid spread of illegal content in the society, specifically obscene one.  Petitioner, Sohaib Ahmed, went off the view that concerned authorities should take some action to prevent the increasing penetration of this evil in our society. Therefore he asked court to direct Ministry of Telecommunication to block these websites.

Pleader, Advocate Fahad Ahmad Siddiqi, said that necessary steps are required for the eradication of obscene content. He said that children are very much vulnerable to this content and may slip any time, even unintentionally.

Yesterday Justice Malik Shehzad Ahmed Khan of Lahore Highcourt, asked the correspondents to give their comments on the prevailing issue within the period of four weeks.
