Eight Wounded in Doctors Protest in Quetta

The doctors in Baluchistan have been on strike for the past couple of weeks to press the government to accept their demands. They want their salary and perks to be at par with those of doctors in the other provinces. At least eight doctors were injured today when police opened fire on their procession in Quetta while marching toward the Chief Minister’s residence.

One of the wounded doctors was in critical condition and at least 50 doctors were also arrested after police baton-charged and shelled the participants of the march.
