Wasim denies any relation with Humaima Malik

The dashing widower and legendary cricket all-rounder, Wasim Akram, on Thursday declined any relation with 23-year old Pakistan model-turned-actor Humaima Malik, who recently was quoted in the media claiming to have close relations with Wasim and was widely acknowledged as his new girlfriend.

The situation has seemed to become complicated for Wasim, who had to think it necessary to deny the claims made by Humaima in his regular writing piece which appeared at ESPN Star Sports website with a postscript. “Contrary to reports in a leading daily, I am not dating any 23-year-old Pakistani model. My life is only devoted to my two kids.”

Earlier, Humaima claimed that she and Wasim had known each other for over one-and-half years and termed their relationships as health and entertaining despite a huge age difference between them. Wasim is 45 years old while Humaima has claimed her age just 23 and considering typical female psychology and ‘age-telling culture’ in our fashion industry it may be advisable to add a few years in her age but despite that the difference remained huge.

Soni to sue Pakistani actress Meera

Mahesh Bhutt’s wife Soni Razdan has decided to take legal action against the Pakistani actress. In a statemtent, Soni Razdan said, “Yes, I am meeting my lawyers to file a legal suit against Meera. This is not the first time Meera has tried to malign my husband. A few years ago she had made bizarre allegations against him in an Urdu daily in Pakistan.”

“I am very angry. You can’t say anything about anybody.  Look at the work Mahesh is doing now. It goes far beyond the Meeras and slushy gossip.  She needs to behave responsibly, and since she is not doing that, she needs to be taught a lesson,” added Razdan. While on the other hand, Meera said, “Why are they doing this to me? How can Mahesh be my boyfriend? I’m only 26. Please tell them not to file a suit.”

The actresses like Meera and Veena Malik should at least look up to Ali Zafar, Atif Ali and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, who have gained popularity with their effort and honesty, not with such cheep publicity-gaining-tricks that are embarrassing the whole Pakistani nation.

We love pop savvy Pakistanis: Josh

Pakistanis are people that know their music and are mature listeners as compared to India who are mostly driven by Bollywood music, the band Josh told in an interview. The band members, Rupinder Magon and Qurram Hussain are in Pakistan to release their album ‘Beyond Kismat’ which is being sponsored by an international fast food chain. When asked why they choose Pakistan to release their album when they could have done so anywhere in the world, they replied that Pakistanis are addicted to good lyrics and rhythm. “They certainly know pop music and appreciate it to the maximum level. The people at the concerts know the lyrics to our songs,” they said.

It’s an honour for any musician when the audience is able to sing your song when you put the microphone in their direction. And we have gotten that response here which compelled us to release our album from here, said Rupinder. Their album would be released on May 30, worldwide, whereas a copy would be given for free at fast food outlets against a purchase of their product. The best thing about the people here in Pakistan is that they love music and don’t differentiate between nationalities. Their warm response has always compelled us to visit this place again.

Princess Beatrice’s ‘toilet seat’ hat sells for 81,100 pounds

The much-mocked hat worn by Princess Beatrice to the royal wedding last month — widely described as looking like a toilet seat – sold for 81,100 pounds on eBay, charities which will benefit from the sale said.

The money will be equally split between UNICEF and Children in Crisis, which posted the auction results on their websites. The fuss over the hat worn to the royal wedding of her cousin Prince William to longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton seemed to have taken Beatrice – who is the daughter of William’s uncle Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson – by surprise. “I’ve been amazed by the amount of attention the hat has attracted,” Beatrice said on the auction site.

A couple living together fights over 2400 times a year

The average couple bickers 2,455 times a year, a survey revealed yesterday – equal to almost seven times a day. The biggest single reason for a tiff is not listening to what the other is saying, which is responsible for around 112 cross exchanges a year. Annoyance about over-spending, especially on impulsive or unnecessary purchases, leads to 109 disputes – with money in general being the cause of a further 108.

Laziness caused 105 outbursts while snoring provoked 102. What to eat for dinner leads to 92 barneys a year – and 80 tiffs are about a partner walking mud into the house. Driving too fast, walking past items that need taking upstairs and what to watch on television are the cause of conflict more than once a week. Sex – particularly a lack of it or the timing – also causes 88 bust-ups a year.

The survey also showed the average couple will argue about disciplining the children 88 times, and have a further 79 disputes about spoiling them. And there are even 69 clashes because one person has failed to say “I love you” enough. The figures were revealed in a study of 3,000 people, either married or in relationships, by ensure home insurance.
