How to control misconduct cases in examination centers?

Every year thousands of students appear in examinations and the number keeps on increasing. The purpose of examination is to check how much student has learned but in Pakistan it is taken as game of percentage and grades. This competition led the students towards shortcuts and misconducts during exams. Our purpose is to highlight this issue that there should be a proper examination system for all levels.

For an ideal examination system, few things should be consider before and during exams. Now a day a major problem is sitting arrangement of the students. Congested classrooms and high number of students can raise the cases of cheating and other misconducts. The students take advantage of this and due to no space between them they even share the answer sheets with each other. Second thing to be considered is invigilation. Invigilators are normally appointed from government schools and there is only one invigilator appointed in each hall. One invigilator has many responsibilities like paper and answer sheet distribution, circulating attendance sheet, answering queries, if any, and many more. In such conditions he or she cannot have a proper eye on each student. To control these situations Government should focus on establishing more examination centers and should appoint dedicated and loyal invigilators.

As we discussed few things that could control during exams but precautions should be taken before exams as well. In Pakistan, not everywhere but in few areas the students use to bribe the examiners before paper. Secondly students and their roll number slips are not properly checked while entering in examination hall due to which some fake students are also caught. The other thing is the accessories, the student bring with them in examination hall, should not be other that writing material. In few places the students are caught with books and while talking on mobile phones. So there should be proper measures to check students before exam and Government should take serious action on bribes cases.

Misconduct and using of unfair means during exams and bribes, all are the forms of injustice with those students who prepare for exams throughout the year but in the end they never get the fruit as those who use unfair means.

Illegal Human Organ Trafficking

The organ trafficking is on the rise not only in Pakistan but also in the whole world. Lot of stories of brokers, physicians, an hospitals were locked who were involved in illegal organ trafficking. The profitable organizations providing these illegal services exploit the poor in under developing countries. Despite efforts to boost organ donation and resolutions to control transplant tourism, their implementation has been compromised. In Pakistan, according to the Sindhi Institute of Urology, approximately 2000 kidney transplants were performed only in 2005, of which up to two-thirds were estimated to have been performed on foreigners.

A new law in Pakistan is proposed to protecting the poor peoples, who can be fooled to sell their organs for money. The approval of the organ transplant law by National Assembly was the result of a long struggle. The ball is in the court of government. It is their duty to check the illegal trade of organs. Lawmaking without implementation is purposeless. Carelessness by the health and other offices has led to a revival in organ trade after a pause in recent months. The government should try to low down the poverty that drives poors to donate their organs. Foreigners who come for illegal organ transplants should be tracked and traced.

118 operations of organ transplants were underwent in Taiwan, China and 69 transplants reported that these transplants were eased by doctors. There have also been allegations that some embassy officials of Middle Eastern countries have involved in overseas kidney transplants in Pakistan and the Philippines.

Illegal human organ trafficking cannot take place without official secret approval. But the finger of blame must be pointed at the physicians who carry out such practices to fill their pockets without any regard for the welfare of humanity. The health ministry and the law-enforcing agencies for resurgence of organ trade in Pakistan are strongly criticized. Recently thousands of poors have sold their kidneys, and this illegal practice is openly being carried out at hospitals in the large cities.  Many people who had sold their kidneys identified the surgeons who had carried out the transplantations as well as the hospitals where such surgeries were performed.

Sufferings from summer!

Electricity load shedding is a biggest problem for Pakistanis since many years. Each time the Minister of Water and Power claims that the load shedding problem would be resolved by the end of the year but each time it becomes double than before. The only solution left with us every year is Saturday off, shops will close on 8 pm sharp and the clock timings will change by one hour. In such situations it would be foolishness to compare ourselves with developed nations because these countries are so far in the race of progress than us.

It is already 12 hour load shedding in May and 7000 mega watt short fall is claimed then how people will survive in the severe hot days of June, July and august and on the other hand the prices of electricity also going to increase. The industries of Pakistan are badly affecting with this issue but DG PEPCO denied this fact on some TV talk show. Yes we can deny the things unless we suffer them. The Pakistani people have realized that the problem would not resolve but now only thing they want is a proper schedule from power supply authorities. There should be fix timings and a time table of load shedding so that people may plan their tasks according to that schedule.

In the chilling days of winter, we wait for summer but when it comes we only suffer. Children wait for summer holidays but they cannot enjoy this period. Working people wait for Sunday but all day they wait for Monday to be back on work rather to sit home without electricity. So I would end writing here with a new hope that may we get out of this problem soon.
